Firefox, Mozilla Suite, SeaMonkey and other Mozilla browsers need a plugin  for "embedded" webpage audio and video. The test pages in the first two sections are coded using the standards-compliant "Object" element.  I've included a third section with links to some test pages that use nonstandard coding ("Embed" and "BGsound" elements).   Direct links to some of the media files used in these plugin tests are included in the last section.

Midi Wav and Mp3 Plugin Test Pages

Mozilla browsers will use whatever plugin is enabled for Midi, Wav and Mp3 files.
Internet Explorer will either use the Quicktime or Windows Media Player ActiveX control, depending on the page coding.

Windows Media Player Plugin or ActiveX Test Pages

Mozilla browsers will use the Windows Media Player plugin for the Midi, WMA and and m3u tests.
The Wav test is coded for ActiveX only.  Internet Explorer will  use the Windows Media Player ActiveX control.
WMP plugin or ActiveX (Midi)
Active-X only (Wav)
WMP plugin or ActiveX (Mp3 using m3u)
WMP Plugin or ActiveX - Windows Media Audio (Wma)

Plugin Test Pages using nonstandard elements

All of these pages use nonstandard coding.  The "Midi BGsound" test will only work in Internet Explorer.
Pages that use the "Embed" element will work in all browsers, even though the coding is not standards-compliant.

Direct links to media files

These files may be opened in a plugin if one is available, or in an external media player or "helper application", as explained here.
